Background
Information
 | After undergraduate training in Oxford,
I undertook postgraduate ENT training in
Oxford, Royal National Throat Nose and Ear
Hospital, London and Cambridge. I was
awarded the inaugural Graham Fraser
Fellowship, allowing me to develop my skills
in ear surgery and cochlear implantation
with Professor William Gibson in Sydney,
Australia.
I was appointed as Consultant ENT Surgeon at
Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust
in 2000. I have honorary contracts with
Salisbury and Winchester Hospitals and also
provide an ENT service at Lymington
Hospital.
I see general ENT problems and specialise in
the management of ear disease, including
hearing loss, tinnitus and balance disorders
in adults and children. I perform surgery
for hearing problems (including stapes
surgery for otosclerosis) and repeated ear
infections, with a particular expertise in
closed cavity surgery for cholesteatoma. I
perform electrocochleography as part of the
investigation of Meniere’s disease and other
causes of dizziness. I provide a Bone
Anchored Hearing Aid service.
In 2005, I was elected to the Court of
Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons
of England as an examiner for the MRCS. |
