Background
Information
 | I am a consultant ENT surgeon and
subspecialist rhinologist at Southampton
University Hospitals. I was a trainee on the
south coast ENT registrar rotation.
Throughout 1997 I was clinical ENT fellow in
Cape Town, South Africa and I have spent
further periods of training as rhinology
fellow in various ENT departments throughout
Europe and the USA.
Although I see a wide range of ENT problems
operatively, I specialise in the management
of nasal and sinus problems in adults and
children. I perform minimally invasive
endoscopic sinus surgery including extended
roles of frontal sinus surgery and lacrimal
surgery. I undertake rhinoplastic surgery
utilising both closed and open (external)
rhinoplasty techniques as well as nasal
reconstruction. I have a major interest in
chronic facial pain. I also perform
otoplasty (ear pinning) surgery in adults
and children. The management of chronic
snoring and sleep apnoea is one of my major
interests.
My research interests include the management
of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, nasal
polyposis, snoring and sleep apnoea.
I regularly teach on Rhinoplasty and
Advanced Sinus Surgery courses in the UK and
abroad, as well as teaching on training
courses for surgical examinations in the UK. |
